Leaky Chimney Rebuild in Woodstock, VT

This stone chimney, located in beautiful Woodstock, Vermont, was in poor shape. A constant water leak into the home was driving our client crazy. After several attempts by other contractors to fix the leak, Chimney Savers was called for a leak evaluation. It was determined that the mortar joints between the stones were failing and the weight of the rain cap was causing stress cracks on the chimney exterior.

Chimney Savers took the chimney down to the roofline and rebuilt it using new bricks instead of stone. The chimney was originally constructed too short – we had to extend it 2 feet higher to meet code. After the chimney rebuild was complete, we installed a custom stainless steel rain cap with a drip edge to shed water off of the chimney. We also waterproofed the entire structure to ensure the chimney was no longer absorbing moisture. No leaks and a beautiful new chimney!
