Block chimneys on the exterior of homes can deteriorate quickly in the harsh freeze-and-thaw cycles typical of Vermont winters.

This particular chimney, located in Bridgewater, Vermont, also suffered from deterioration caused by moisture from gases venting into it from the boiler.

Chimney Savers came in, tore down the deteriorated chimney and rebuilt it with fresh blocks. We then installed an insulated stainless steel chimney liner that will reduce condensation and extend the life of the new chimney.  We topped it off with a precast concrete crown and new lead counterflashing.  Check out the photo gallery below to see the project from start to finish.
