CHIMNEY REBUILD IN LEBANON, NH
Chimneys face a harsh environment in Vermont and New Hampshire. The constant freeze-thaw cycle during the winter and spring months leads to quick deterioration of masonry. A chimney we worked on in Lebanon, New Hampshire was a perfect example. As you can see in the “Before” photos below, the chimney had large gaps in the mortar. This, combined with the lack of a chimney cap, caused a leak into the house.
The chimney was beyond simple repointing so we took it down to the roofline, installed new lead counterflashing, and built it back up using new bricks. We then installed a stainless steel chimney liner to safely vent the gases from the oil boiler.
Now the home is leak-free and the furnace is venting safely and efficiently!
